Trick or Treat

It's Halloween weekend, which means fall is in full swing you know, this might actually be the best time of year out east! The leaves are beautiful autumn colors, the crowds have cooled down but the sun is still hanging around, and there's just enough crisp in the air to dress up in our favorite chunky knits, cashmere, and leathers. Plus, there are so many fun outdoor activities for the whole family, from harvest festivals to costume parties.

Don't forget the market is still burning hot! Even with inventory down, the third quarter saw closings up +19% YOY and sales volume up +71% on the South Fork, thanks to the bustling luxury market! Just last week, two of our listings went in bidding wars, indicating it's very much still a seller's market!

For more on the market, read The Corcoran Report 3Q 2021.

Halloweekend Happenings

This weekend, there are great community events for the whole family like Halloween Trivia Night at East Hampton Library for a Freaky Friday.

And for Spooky Saturday, take the kids for ceramic painting at the Color Me Mine pop-up at the Children's Museum of the East End, and then for a  fun night out, both Calissa and Le Bilboquet are hosting costume parties that night. Here's a comprehensive rundown of events by town.

Festivities into Fall

The fall festivities don't stop at carving pumpkins and trick-or-treating this weekend. Stop by favorites like Fairview Farms and Hank's Pumkintown for activities corn mazes, hayrides, apple picking and gem mining! While these are great activities for all ages, don't let anyone tell you they're just for kids!

Protect the Pond

Another great activity this fall is to help protect Poxabogue Pond! This stunning Sagaponack body of water is the setting for some of our latest and greatest listings and is at risk of losing some of its shoreline for agricultural usesRead more about the issue and sign the petition here.

Spa-Like Re-Fresh

Fall is also the perfect time to start thinking about a refresh for your Hamptons home now that there's not a revolving door of guests every weekend.

Here are some design trends that can actually boost the value of your homeModern farmhouse-style kitchens are in high demand, a common design theme or style throughout your entire house makes it feel much higher-end, and, now that we all revamped our home offices and gyms during the pandemic, spa-like bathrooms top buyers' priorities lists.

Here are five bathroom design trends to freshen up your bathroom like the one at 114 Old Farm Road (pictured). If you want to talk specifics on adding value to your home, from simple paint color to a major renovation, give me a call - I'm more than happy to talk you through the best investment.

Life Imitating Art

Unless you've been living under a rock which, to be honest, doesn't seem so farfetched anymore you've heard Adele's new song, Easy On Me, making a splash on the airwaves. But Bobby Berk, of Queer Eye fame, thinks it's her video for the song that may be leaving its mark as a new interior design trend.

If you want to see inside the spectacular songstress's actual home, check out Vogue's 73 Questions with Adele.

Cozy and Colorful

Another favorite from across the pond, our Scottish friend and former Chief Creative Officer of DVF, Jonathan Saunders, just released the latest home collection for his all-encompassing lifestyle brand, Saunders Studio.

The collection features sumptuous suede pillows, stunning statement candles, and chunky knit blankets, and genderless sweaters, perfect for a cozy fall season! We love that many of the knits feature recycled materials and come in a variety of colors and patterns to stand out while fitting into any style of decor.

Fall in a Bowl

Nothing says fall-like butternut squash soup, but that doesn't mean you can't mix it up a bit. Here are 6 variations of butternut squash soups - let me know your favorite!
